Big Moves

I figured I would post, since it's been a while. We are now living in Southern California, in order for Mark to find a full time job teaching. This past weekend we had some great news, Mark has been employed in the Palm Springs district. So, it looks like we will be moving again next fall, and this time if all goes well, it will be into our own home, that will be all ours.

We are all doing great. Darien is finishing up his first year of Kindergarten in a couple months, learning and loving it. Jonny is now completely potty trained and growing up fast. I'm attending school online, earning my degree in Game Design as well as attending local classes in Architectural drafting.

Elephant Seal Fun

The other day Mark took the boys done to the bluffs and to walk along the beach. While playing on the sand a couple of Marine Mammal Center members were trying to carry a baby Elephant Seal to the truck, so they could drive him to the rehabilatation center. They asked Mark to help carry the creature since it was so heavy and the boys got a close up look at the seal. And officially the seal is named Darien, and can be found at the Marine Mammal website, at the Patient Report. Scroll down to where it says, Northern California Elephant Seals, and you will see Darien listed.

Not much has been happening around here. Both Mark and I have been working as much as possible. Mark is also taking a computer repair class with his homeschool student so he's learning even more about fixing computers, which is good. Sign-ups for T-ball is coming up next weekend, so Darien is getting ready for another fun season. This next weekend Uncle Jon & Gina are coming up so we can do a bit of wedding planning. Also, Darien has a friends birthday coming up so he's pretty excited about that. Darien was also recently re-evaluated by his speech therapist. She says he's done great over the last year and that when he starts Kindergarten next year she would like to start seeing him twice a week, instead of the once a week he's at now. So, that'll be great for him. We've been working on Jon potty training so that perhaps next August he can start preschool while Darien starts Kindergarten.

Mark had his alumni basketball game last night at the high school. He did really great. Alot of kids like him in the local schools since he subs there all the time. So there were some kids cheering for him, it was nice. The boys had a good time and D says he wants to play basketball now. Darien said "He did awesome!" when he saw him make a basket. So he can start next year with training classes here in the community.
Jon's had his first little cold. He was really congested and would cough until he threw up. He didn't really eat a whole lot for two days, and what he did eat he threw up. He couldn't sleep cause he couldn't find a good position to breath in so I went out and bought him a humidifier and it helped alot. But he ate his first full meal yesterday so he's feeling much better. Back to his regular defiant self.

I know it's been a while, but hey, we've been busy :) Well, Darien just had his 5th birthday party yesterday and everything went well. He wanted a Spiderman theme, so we got the cake, pinata and all that fun stuff. We can't believe he's already 5! He's growing up so fast. Little Jon is doing really good as well. He's been hitting and screaming less and giving more hugs and kisses, so he's starting to grow up great. We've all been busy with both Mark and I working as much as possible. Darien is still seeing his speech therapist every week. Both of the boys are now officially computer geeks. They both enjoy playing games like Blue's Clues and Reader Rabbit. And for Darien's birthday, his big present he asked for was his very own computer that his dad built him. So he's really excited about that. Well, I'll try to put more stuff up here, but I don't think many people look here anyway. So, have a good day!
