D's 4th Bday

Well now Christmas if over and now it's time for our wonderful boy Darien to turn a whopping 4 years old. It's amazing how fast time flies, it feels like it was just yesterday...

Anyhow, Darien is really excited. On his actual birthday, which is Thursday, we are going to do what D wants to do. We are going to K-mart to exchange some things and let him pick out his birthday presents himself. We were looking online together today to get some ideas and there were a few things he saw that he wanted. He was cute though, he would see something and say ' I want that first, I like that first.' He has this obsession with 2, so he says he wants 2 things. LOL. Well, of the things we saw he wanted an ice cream maker, matchbox car giant city playset, and a pirate boat. He really wants the boat, so I want to try and get him something like that.
So on that day we're going shopping then we're going to make homemade pizza, which is Darien's favorite meal recently. And we'll also bake a little cake for the family. His grandparent are coming up late the night of his birthday so he's really excited that he'll be able to see them again too.
We're going to wait until the 15th and most likely have a little birthday party for D. Then we can invite friends from his school and I can pick out a couple more little presents. I'm also hoping he'll get a nice little bike with training wheels, his grandparents mentioned getting for him.
It's gonna be lots of fun and I'm really excited. I just can't believe he's growing up so fast. He knows it too, and talks about it all the time. :) LOL

Merry Christmas!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season. Our's is going well so far. Darien is very excited this year, he loves 'his bootiful tree' he says all the time. We're trying not to make it all about the presents and toys. He doesn't seem to anxious about that stuff. He always talks about Santa, cookies, and candy before the presents. As a way for him to understand about the season of giving, I had him make home made gifts for all our close family. For Papa he made a special box filled with love and a lovely little poem, for Nana he made paper flowers, for Dada he made a book called 'Me and Dada' and it compares the two and shows their similiarties, for Jon he made a photo collage of Jon's really nice Portrait, and for other close family living far away we made ornaments made out of the boys handprints. Everything turned out really good. Tomorrow's going to be really fun and I know the boys are going to have a blast. The grandparents are here so they have had lots of fun and been really happy today. I'm going to try and blog more since I haven't in a little while.
Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful evening and day tomorrow! And always remember the love of family and dear friends.
